The ongoing battle between President Trump and Twitter came to a head recently, with Twitter slapping one of his tweets with a fact check label for the first time. Trump swiftly responded by signing an executive order which targeted the legal shield that protects social media companies from liability for content posted on their sites. Twitter subsequently hid a tweet from Trump, saying it was glorifying violence. Twitter did not delete the tweet, saying it could be in the public’s interest for it to remain accessible.
